ERICA: Kai was never right for me Adam. He was a fantasy that I lost myself in for a while to get over how much it hurt losing you. You know you said that I deserved to be happy and I deserved to be with someone that gives me everything but nobody gets that you know. Nobody gets everything. It’s like you know… it’s like… it’s like you and me, you know, we were 90% great and 10% driving each other crazy.
ADAM: Yeah that’s more like 80-20.
ERICA: Well, what about 85-15? [Nervously] Look, I know that I made some big mistakes and I’m sorry. I am sorry for… for being controlling and for just getting, you know, trapped in here [Pointing at her head] and anyway the point is that I don’t want Kai, I don’t want a fantasy, I just want you. And I’m willing to do the work to fix whatever was wrong because you’re the person that I love. And I’m… The part that you’ve got that drives me crazy that’s also really good for me too you know, the way that you… you challenge me and the way that you stand up to me. I need that. I need… I need you. And I… I… I feel like I’m forgetting a bunch of stuff… [Looking at her napking where she wrote some notes] Just a second… [Sighs loudly] Shit this doesn’t make any sense!
ADAM: [Laughing] Hey Erica…
ERICA: [Looking up] Yeah?
ADAM: Did you think this was gonna be a hard sell?
ERICA: [Taking a deep breath, taking a step toward him] Can we just try again? Even if there is no guaranty that it will work this time? Can we just try?
ADAM: Yeah… Yeah… [Coming closer] Let’s try again.
